When a woman is pregnant, it is most likely for her to gain weight because according to science, this is a move by the body system of the woman to adapt to her new condition. However, there are some things about weight gain during pregnancy that most people do not know about. For example, did you know that a woman is able to predict the amount of weight that she might gain if she becomes pregnant? According to Institute of medicine, the amount of weight that a pregnant woman is able to gain can be determined by her height. According to experts, such a condition may lead to other complications that may be said to be risky to both the woman and her baby. According research, quite a good number of women who gain excess weight during pregnancy are most likely to have premature birth or undergo cesarean delivery. Such women are also likely to suffer from gestational diabetes or preeclampsia. It is therefore very important for a pregnant woman to watch her weight during pregnancy so that she may avoid such complications.
 Does the mother’s weight affect the baby’s weight?
One mystery that has defeated most people to understand is whether if the weight of the baby is determined by the weight of the mother. The answer to this is no but you should know that the weight of the baby is determined by other things like genetics. It is however very difficult to predict whether the baby will have more or less weight in the future regardless of the weight of the mother during pregnancy.
